J. Desmond Ward, DDS
Dr. J. Desmond Ward is an Attending Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Ward, a native New Yorker, graduated from Riverdale Country School in 1987, Union College in Schenectady, New York 1991, and earned his degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1996.
In 1998, Dr. Ward completed a General Practice Residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center where he was awarded a fellowship from Columbia University. In 2002, Dr. Ward entered private practice after a four-year residency and receiving a Certificate of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident.
Dr. Ward is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Ward has written and been published in journals, including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Ward is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, the New York State Dental Association, the New York County Dental Association, the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the New York Academy of Dentistry. Dr. Ward is also a member of the New York City Medical Reserve Corps.
Dr. Ward is a dedicated husband and father of three, who enjoys drawing and competitive sailing during his spare time.
