Harrison L. Chen, D.D.S
Dr. Harrison Chen was born in Bloomington, Indiana. He attended The University of Notre Dame, where he finished at the top of his class. Following graduation from his undergraduate studies, he attended New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery, again finishing at the top of his class, earning high honors in the graduating class of 2003. After earning his D.D.S. degree, Dr. Chen completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency training at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, where he served as Chief Resident at Mary Immaculate Hospital and Jacobi Medical Center (Teaching Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine). Dr. Chen now devotes his time to private practice in his newly built, state-of-the-art surgery suite located adjacent to Central Park, Manhattan. He also serves as a clinical instructor at the Mount Sinai Hospital Center and is a clinical professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Having trained under one of the pioneers of orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, he is currently appointed as an attending surgeon at the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital in the Upper East Side of New York City, where he performs corrective surgeries to treat craniofacial deformities.
Dr. Chen is amongst an elite and small group of oral surgeons across the country who are dual board-certified as oral and maxillofacial surgeons as well as anesthesiologists. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Chen is the chief surgeon and owner of OMSNYC, currently the largest privately-owned oral surgery practice in New York City and on the East Coast. In the past decade, he has brought into his surgery practice a group of top oral and maxillofacial surgeons from around the country. A visionary in his field, Dr. Chen has welcomed both dental as well as medical specialists to join his group, with offices at multiple locations in Manhattan.
Dr Chen has many interests outside of oral surgery. An avid fan of architecture, he designed and constructed all of his offices with Tentacorp Construction. A former world-class swimmer who competed on the international level, Dr. Chen enjoys swimming, reading, traveling and spending family time with his wife and two daughters.
